The Smart Hydrogen Hub creates a collaborative environment for hydrogen innovation; a demonstration site for an end-to-end green hydrogen value chain. From renewable energy to the off-take and derivatives of hydrogen.
By establishing a shared test and demonstration infrastructure, the Smart hydrogen Hub lowers costs and risks for innovators, fosters better coordination of projects, creates synergies in value chain developments and positions the Rotterdam area in the rapidly developing hydrogen sector at regional, national and European levels.
The Smart Hydrogen Hub consists of a series of projects that are currently under development, starting with the installation of a 1MW electrolyzer/1 MWh battery. The facility aims to start producing green hydrogen in the beginning of 2026 and will contributing to grid stability in M4H.
